- The three techniques of threading. Students are taught a total of 3 ways of threading; the Asian technique, the Iranian technique and finally a self threading method. The first two are interchangeable and do not differ a great deal, student can interchange between the two throughout the day. The self threading method is demonstrated and explained. We do not expect students to completely achieve this method on the training day. It can usually be picked up in time with sufficient practice.
- The students initially learn the motor skills and rhythemic movement necessary initially on a straight surface, but not on the skin at this stage.
- Once this this skill is grasped students will be shown how to take the skill onto the face; threading against direction of hair growth; moulding the thread onto the face appropriately. Manupulating the thread for different areas of the face. We use mannequin heads to do this.
- Full face and eyebrow shaping demonstrated.
- Now the student should be ready to apply the skills learnt by working on each other.
- In the last part of the course, students work on models that have been booked in on their behalf. This enables students to gain real hand-on experience. Although we try our upmost to provide models and usually have sufficient, we cannot guarantee it or be responsible for absent models.
We do expect all the students to be able to do an upper lip and eye brow thread by the end of the session. If we feel that this has not been the case then we can offer the student to come in again for a couple of hours on a 1-1 basis. There is no extra fee for this. We take pride in being able to provide a come back service if need be.

Award
It is nationally recognised that the best and most efficient way for therapists and to maintain and improve their skills is through undertaking 'continuing professional education'. (CPD)
This implies that individuals accept responsibility for their own development by undergoing self-education and using well-established and credible providers of training and education.
This should help individuals and salons/ spas to provide more advanced treatments and services, accept new roles and responsibilities, and to adapt to changing situations within the industry by up dating their knowledge of new technology and procedures.
