We have been teaching Threading since 1999. At first, the majority or our students were Asians who had always known of the existence of this skill Some took the course as an interest whilst others to provide the treatment professionally. In the recent 4 years, threading within the uk has gained wide recognision as a depilatory threatment. We have since been predominently teaching threading to those already in the beauty trade or those seeking to be.
In the current day most people have at least heard of threading if not seen it done. However HABIA (who are the standard setting body for the hair, beauty, nails and spa industries, and creates the standards that form the basis of all qualifications including NVQs, SVQs, Apprenticeships, Diplomas and Foundation degrees, as well as industry codes of practice), have not yet put their opinions forward with respect to threading. Due to this, Threads and Threading teach two way of threading on clients and one as a self method, covering all angles should HABIA favour one method over the other.
As threading was originally just a skill past down the generations, we have adapted our courses to promote strict Health & Hygienne procedures from our vast knowledge and experience, making it a safe treatment to offer in the salon.

Tutor: I am a qualified Beauty and Holistic Therapist and have been doing threading for over 15 years (originally like a lot of Asians as a skill pasted down from family). I have been offering the treatment to clients once qualified as a therapist and have seen its growing demand in UK salons too. I have been teaching threading for 7/8 years and have been privileged to train some top high street and independent salons as well as mobile therapists and individuals. Some of my trainees are:
Simple Spa: Covent Garden
Salon De Beaute Ltd: Eastleigh

Euphoric Ltd: Sussex
Mint Nail and Beauty: North
North Kent College: Kent

I was quite nervous about going to the course but it was a relaxed and calm environment. it was nice to have you looking over and giving advice where needed. This made it a lot better than just letting me do it on my own. i was pleased with the way you sat down and talked us through all the information. It was also nice to only have a small group. If we got something wrong then you was always there to help. it was an enjoyable class and i didnt feel under a huge amount of pressure. I am usually a very nervous person but i didnt feel uncomfortable at all.
Thank you for a wonderful day.

"I am in the beauty industry and threading is a fascinating technique which I was excited to have learnt. The course is very comprehensive and as with everything, the key is to practise practise practise. I really enjoyed learning this method of hair removal. Thanks Sapna.

'The threading course with Sapna was a lovely and relaxed way to learn something new. The smaller group helped me and others to concentrate and learn faster. I enjoyed the day, meeting new people in the same business as me. I came away feeling really motivated. Thank you very much.'

I attended a threading course at Threads and Threading in April 2009. Being a complete novice to threading and having never threaded before, I came away not only knowing how to thread, but being confident in my ability as Sapna (the teacher) had arranged for models on the day on whom I practiced on. The one day course teaches not only how to hold a thread correctly but also how to separate hairs, which is a must to know as this will help you to shape eyebrows professionally with only removing the necessary hairs to make beautifully shaped brows.
I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to take up threading as a profession or for self use.
Thank you Sapna for the great course, and for all your help and advice thereafter.

I went on the training course on the 1st June 2009, I was made to fell very welcome by the friendly team. I learnt all the skill requied to become a good threadist, and also offered ongoing support. I am looking forward to doing my training with Sapna and would recommened the course to anyone.

"Sapna is a very hands-on tutor who answers all your questions throughout the day course. She is very approachable and has in-depth technical knowledge which she conveys in a very clear manner. She also goes to considerable effort to arrange models for her students to practise on and provides what I would call an "after hours service" - i.e she provides support and responds to any questions long after you have completed the course you book with her. I would recommend Sapna to anyone in the beauty industry, whether beginner or refresher"

I had some reservations about the course content, during the introduction as you were demonstrating, I realised that due to my brittle bone condition, I would be unable to grip the thread comfortably in my mouth. However, after a quiet chat with you, I was able to explain my concerns and you were amazing! You didn't laugh (big 'yey' for you) and you not only offered an alternative, but acted as though you meet students with an unusual bite every day.
Many, many thanks to you.
The course itself was pitched perfectly, your location was very comfortable, the 'models' you had arranged were very patient and overall I would give both you and Threads&Threading top marks...10/10! Excellent!!

The threading course was a very good experience and I enjoyed every minute of it. You explained the techniques in detail and I found it very beneficial. Infact I am already practising it and it feels better every time.

Thank you for an excellent training session last Sunday. When the session began, I felt very nervous and not sure that I would be able to get the technique of threading right. After a little while, I felt more relaxed and it became slightly easier to manipulate the thread. Your teaching skills are of a very good standard and by the end of the day, I was threading. You were very positive and supportive throughout the session.
